Hi, my name is Judy Kirby
and until age 20 I led a basically average life. Suddenly, a diagnosis of Stargardt's Macular Degeneration turned my future upside down. I had to learn to adapt to a blurred world, was forced to stop driving, and accept that my ability to read and see objects and faces would continue to diminish. Despite its challenges, my 50-year journey with this disease has been one of resilience and creativity. I credit this to my faith in God. Though I am unable to navigate the world as I once did, my spirit and drive to share my story remain strong.
My book is titled Blurred Vision
What is blurred vision? Is it just a physical condition, or does it concern matters of the heart? Through the poems, writings, and pictures in my book, I attempt to help readers search their own lives to discover their distinct answer to this question. I came to many conclusions myself during my decade-long writing path. All entries were penned with a deep and heartfelt touch. Every photograph was personally taken. Even though my book is marked by the use of innovative technology, no AI is involved. Just ME! You, as my readers, will experience a journey that is filled with challenges and triumphs, beautiful and real.
